Challenges for the sector going forward Harnessing the technology that is available to maximise the benefits for the sector. Ensure that there is a coordinated development of intermodal transport throughout the region. Foster active discussion and progress with the industry. Coordinated development key to better balance intermodal flows and improve crossborder regulations. MS is low but growing (slowly) How can Intermodal fit in in the wider transport picture? Different in different countries How can IT fit in in the wider transport picture? Different in different countries Innovation works, but also fails, need to focus investment and interests of all parties Is there a need for regulation of the sector? Things such as Unified railway law should improve competitiveness.
