Applied Climate Information System
Applied Climate Information System (ACIS) NOAA Regional Climate Centers (RCCs) A framework for management of metadata and climate data Ingest, Quality Control, and Archive Multiple Datasets Networked/Robust System Distributed Data Management Manages climate data (so you don’t have to!)

Applied Climate Information System
ACIS provides a platform for suites of climate products CLIMOD (RCCs) xmACIS (NWS) NOWData (NWS) AgACIS (NRCS) For More Information, please see

Current Climate Summary Maps
Produced Daily at HPRCC Maps produced on a National, Regional and State Level Products produced include: Precipitation (Total, Departure from Normal, % of Normal, SPI) Temperature (Average, HDD, CDD, Departure from Normal) Over 2000 Maps produced each day
9
Gridded SPI Product Produced for the NDMC Updated Daily
Available through Current Climate Summary Maps interface 30, 60, 90, 6-month, 12-month, From Jan 1 (current year) and From October 1 (water year) updated daily. Last Month, Last 3 Months, and Last 12 months available (updated monthly) Uses Stations with at-least 30-years of data Cressman Interpolation (computationally fast) 0.4 Degree Grid Resolution

Station-Level Products
Station Metadata Dynamic Visualizations using data from ACIS SPI Time-Series Product (in development) Soil Moisture products available for AWDN stations (10, 25, 50 and 100cm depths, root zone water)

NDMC Drought Atlas Connections to ACIS for Current Climate Data (Online Atlas) Quality Control Dynamic Station-Level climate data and time-series graphics for online interface
18
XML-RPC Connections to ACIS
eXtensible Markup Language – Remote Procedure Call Provides dynamic methods of retrieving climate data Any framework that has XML-RPC capabilities can make client calls to any RCC XML-RPC server Intended for dynamic online interfaces
20
Future Expand Station-Level and Spatial product offerings
‘Favorite’ stations lists Automated report generation (via , ftp, etc) Customized XML-RPC connections to ACIS for other organizations Online GIS interface to Current Climate Summary Products Linking of station-level time-series information to spatial products Ability to save favorite views/products and quickly cover areas of interest Downloadable files in multiple formats for Products (GIS, CSV, PDF, JPG, PNG, etc) Improve Quality Control of Real-Time Data in ACIS
