4 Math- Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II or equivalent (Algebra w/Finance) Science – 1 Biology, 1 Physical (Chemistry) History – 1 World History, US History I and II, Government and Economics PE – 1 full PE Health Other Electives – 3 from Career Tech, Fine Arts, or Foreign Language (combination of any) Career Preparedness (if not taken in 8th Grade)

Pre AP Guidelines Pre-AP Courses at AHS - Pre-AP English 9
Weighted 5 points each 9 week grading period and Semester Test Pre-AP English 9 Must have passed English 8 or Pre-AP English 8 and must meet a benchmark of 424 on the Reading portion of the Grade 8 ASPIRE. Pre-AP Biology Must have completed Algebra I in the 8th Grade OR must be enrolled in Algebra I in the 9th Grade must have a “B” average in Pre-AP Life Science or Pre-AP Physical Science or an “A” average in 8th Grade general science

Algebra A Algebra B Geometry Algebra II/Trig or Algebra w/ Finance Algebra I Pre AP Geometry or Geometry Algebra II/Trig or Pre AP Algebra II/Trig Pre AP Calculus or Analytical Math or AP Cal Algebraic Connections Algebra w/Finance or Algebra II/Trig Pre AP Geometry Pre AP Algebra II/Trig or Algebra II/Trig AP Calculus AB or Pre AP Pre Calculus or Analytical Mathematics Pre AP Algebra II/Trig AP Calculus AB AP Calculus BC Algebra II/Trig Pre AP Pre-Calculus AP Calculus Algebra I A and Algebra I B must both be taken to satisfy the Algebra I requirement. Students may not go from Algebra II/Trig, DE Math, or Analytical Mathematics to Algebraic Connections. *All Students are required to take Algebra II/Trig or Algebra w/Finance.

All students must have completed Algebra I before selecting Pre-AP Chemistry as a course offering. **Please see the registration packet for more information on requirements for taking AP Physics and AP Chemistry. Earth Science and Anatomy/Physiology are Senior only courses.
