Terms to Know Credit Core Course vs. Elective Course Prerequisite GPA
Successful completion of a semester course (credit will not be awarded by quarter) Core Course vs. Elective Course Core (Math, Science, Social Studies, English) Elective (Practical Art, Fine Art, PE, Foreign Language, etc.) Prerequisite Course that is required to be completed before another course GPA The average of all of your grades as you go through high school; if you complete 8th grade Challenge or Foreign Language courses you already have a HS GPA

What Do I Need to Graduate?
24 Credits = Graduation! ½ credit = 1 semester 1 credit = 1 year 60% (D) or higher to earn credit in a class If you do not pass a required class, you must take it in Summer School or repeat the class the following year Summer School Recovery ~ you can only take 1 class per semester

Transcript Record of grades and attendance for all of high school
Verifies credits are earned for graduation College and scholarship applications will ask for this document GPA & Class Rank
