1. The process of influencing behaviour towards a desired ideal. 2. Describing the treatment which is going to be performed, then visually demonstrating it, followed by performing on the child. 3. The strengthening of a pattern of behaviour which increases the probability that the behaviour will be displayed in future. 4. A three-stage process: first training the patient to relax; second, constructing a hierarchy of fear-producing stimuli related to the patient’s principal fear; and third, introducing the stimulus in the relaxed patient until it causes no fear. 5. Letting a child watch another child have dental treatment to show that there is nothing for them to fear.

Partial dentures With respect to RPDs, what is meant by
Retention resistance to removal from the tissues or teeth Stability resistance to movement in a horizontal direction ( AP or medio-laterally) Support resistance to movement TOWARDS the tissues or teeth Kennedy Classification Definitions Class I bilateral free end saddle ClassII unilateral free end saddle Class III unilateral bounded saddle Class IV anterior, single but bilateral ( crossing the midline) saddle area Note the most posterior saddle area determines the classification Edentulous areas other than those determining classification are called modification spaces
