2 New DAQ release (PixelDAQ-1-5-T4)
The problems observed during data taking in the past weeks implied some delay in the release of 1-5-T4, which was, in principle, almost ready after the SR1 validation. The DSP group has defined a strategy to attack and solve the problems related to DSP monitoring. This strategy is divided in 5 steps, and at the end it should give us a stable monitoring tool. But it’s important to notice that the last steps are supposed to be based on the last DSP release, hence on PixelDAQ-1-5-x. Given the fact that PixelDAQ-1-5-x still need validation at the PIT, it looks to me that we should do our best to have this release ready by Tue June 1st morning, in order to have a chance to qualify it during the technical stop. 3 Things to be included Mandatory items (to be tested during the stop)
New DSP release, with fixes for phase 3/4. Code already validated in SR1 + modifications done at the PIT in the past few weeks. Small updates to CalibrationConsole/CalibrationAnalysis Infrastructure for stopless recovery (dummy implementation) Data-taking at 80/160 (something may need modifications…) Optional items (may come after technical stop) Compilation with gcc34 under SLC5 First test of module stopless recovery Action de-allocation in case of ROD removal Compilation under SLC5/gcc43 Paolo Morettini Pix DAQ release 27/5/2010

4 Validation In theory it would be necessary to have a full validation of PixelDAQ-1-5-T4 at the pit (but 1-5-T3 + fixes was validated in SR1). But it’s not obvious that we will manage to do this during the incoming technical stop. So I think we should give priority to data taking validation, and do only a minimal scan validation. In case of troubles with calibration we can always step back to Code should be ready (tags sent to me) by Mon, May 31st 8 PM. Compilation will be done during the night, and the test could start on Tuesday morning. Paolo Morettini Pix DAQ release 27/5/2010
