3 Project Management (WP-1)
The WP provides the administrative coordination, with regard to aspects such as administrative/financial responsibilities, links with the EU administration and the administration of each partner’s participation. The FMD is responsible for managing the scheduled activities, good conduct and results of the project towards the Commission. The partnership works through consensual decision-making and strategic alignment of clearly defined tasks. Critical to the good conduct of management is the effective communication flow from management to partners and among partners.

5 Project Management (WP-1)
D.1.1 – Kick off Meeting Description International kick-off meeting in Rome to launch the project officially and for partners to discuss the project phases, administrative/financial deadlines and overall working methodology. First part involves the partnership; second part involves the partnership and representatives of the local network supporting the digital literacy programme (Rome Municipality, elders’ centres, schools and companies). D.1.2 – Project website internal restricted area Description Internal restricted area in the project website, created at the start of the project to favour communication between Partners. It will be the first available part of the website. Partners will enter the area with login/password to ensure privacy and data security, and will use this internal area, to exchange information/data about all aspects of project management (organizational/administrative/financial). 7 Project Management (WP-1)
D.1.3 – Final Report Description Final project report summarizing the activities and results achieved by the project, as well as the working/evaluation methodologies applied. It is written in English and made available in electronic version in the public area of the project website. Three groups are the main target: (a) Partners, (b) the Commission, and (c) major stakeholders from the countries involved and other countries’ organizations interested in the project. 8 Status of the art of elderly-focused ICT learning programmes in Europe (WP-2)
The aim of this WP is to provide an overview of the current situation of ICT educational and training programmes for elderly people in Europe and particularly in the Countries of the Partnership. Thus, at the start of the project a concise survey research about the existence and content of elderly-focused ICT-learning training programmes will be carried out by FERPA, the responsible for this WP. Status of the art of elderly-focused ICT learning programmes in Europe (WP-2) D.2.1 – Survey of ICT learning programmes for elders in EU Description Final survey report containing: description of methodology applied (questionnaires, data analysis); presentation and discussion of collected data; analysis of data, creating a taxonomy of various models existing in the EU, comparing their strong/weak points as ICT training courses for elders. The report is useful primarily to the Consortium’s work but it is also useful to all organization interested in education for the elderly. D.3.1– Curricula for ICT training programme for elders Description Multi-lingual curricula for the 3-level digital literacy training programme for elders.These curricula will contain the general didactical objectives, methodologies and activities for each of the 3 levels (the 1st level has only to be customized and integrated with the others). The resulting curricula will be validated by all the Partners involved in the WP, translated into the target languages and made available in electronic version at the project website. It already exists in Italian, since it has been designed and implemented by the Project Coordinator, the FMD. It will be customised according the specific needs of each partner and translated from Italian into the different target languages (English, Romanian and Spanish). Developed jointly by all Partners since the content is independent of geographical contexts. It is created in English, translated into EN/ RO/ ES languages and made available in e-version on the website. D.4.1 – Digital Literacy pilot training courses in Italy Description Complete pilot/testing programme composed of 9 pilot training courses carried out in Italy and involving about 250 elders.3 courses for each of the 3 level scheduled (1: basic ICT skills, 2: social networking, 3: e-gov. services) are organized throughout the school year in at least 10 schools of the wide network of schools linked to the FMD in Rome and Lazio Region. Real-time evaluation and feedback by UEDIN (WP8) completes the implementation of the overall digital-literacy programme. (WP-5) WP5 carries out 3 case studies containing an in depth analysis of the most innovative methodological/didactical aspects of the project, including inter-generational learning and collaborative personalization in the teaching process. Collaborative personalization is in fact crucial for the success of the programme since -through the role of students as elders’ tutors- it assures that all the elderly participants gain ICT knowledge even if starting from very different backgrounds. 27 Exploitation of results: virtual knowledge- based community building environment and international meeting (WP-6) WP6 aims to reinforce and expand the network of people and organizations participating in the project’s digital literacy programme by applying a twofold strategy: 1)development of a virtual environment to stimulate the creation of communities of elders, students, teachers and other stakeholders using/improving the methodology and sharing knowledge (experiences/solutions). 2) 4 international meetings aiming to take stock of the courses and to promote the value and transfer of results to a wide range of stakeholders from the education system and the public and private sector who will be invited with a view to raising potential sponsorship for the continuation of the programme. D.7.2 – Bi-lingual video Description The FMD makes available to the project a professionally-made video based on the Italian experience of Nonni su Internet (Grandparent on Internet) and illustrating the concept of inter-generational digital literacy programme. This video is in Italian and will be translated into English. It will be placed in the project’s website for viewing and downloading. D.7.3 – Project electronic 3 montly 3 lingual newsletter Description The electronic newsletter is another major dissemination tool. It is composed of 3 main sections: (a) news about the activities carried out by the project and (b) news about other EU elderly-focused programmes and (c) calendar of relevant events. It is in English, French and Spanish (the 3 official languages in which FERPA works). It is issued 3 monthly and sent to the partnership and to FERPA’s contact list (estimated number of addressees: 300,000 in total). 40 Quality Assurance Plan (WP-8)
WP8 aims at maintaining high standards of quality in the activities and results of the project. Edinburgh University is responsible for the QA Plan that will use its real-time evaluation methodology already used in various other EU projects. This QA process involves all partners and is directly linked to the management activity.
