Forces in motion By Taylia, Kyle, Jake, & Ryley

2 Ryley and Taylia are using the air guns . Taylia is winning
In the forces in motion room , the air guns were fun. However, it was difficult to get the ball to stay up on the first couple of times. Our group soon figured out that it was easier to set the ball on top of the Air Gun then start it so that the force of the wind blows it straight up. After this you could carefully move the ball above the air gun. This relates to Content Standard 8.1 which states how an object’s inertia causes it to continue moving the way it is moving unless it is acted upon by a force to change its motion. Ryley and Taylia are using the air guns . Taylia is winning

3 We solved the easiest puzzle!
Block Puzzles In the "Forces in Motion" room, there was a small table set up with puzzles for you to try. Although we didn’t solve the hardest puzzles, it was fun to try them out. From what I've heard, all you had to do was shake the "X"  to release the box. In this section, we learned how sometimes putting force onto an object, doesn’t make it easier to change how it works. This relates to our science curriculum content standard 8.1  which states that "An unbalanced force acting on an object changes its speed and/or direction in motion. We solved the easiest puzzle!

4 Sound Room In the sound room we listened to a radio DJ and where we had the ability to see the actual sound waves that were made. We then could change its pitch and tone. The higher the pitch and tone was the higher and bigger the sound waves got. After the recording was over, we had the chance to record ourselves and mess around with our own pitch and tone. The sound room relates to our science curriculum in Content Standard 7.1 which stated, "Energy can be stored in many forms and can be transformed into the energy of motion."

5 Block Car Races Another fun competition was the block cars . You build your car using square blocks , then raced your friends cars down a hill. Taylia won the race because she put all the blocks on the front side of the car. However  Kyle put his blocks on the back side of his block. This relates to our curriculum in Content Standard 8.1 which says, " An unbalanced (net) force acting on a object changes its speed and/or direction of motion."

6 Fun Facts With Taylia :)
The air guns were made out of traffic cones that had the top cut off.  There are many ways to solve the block puzzle , and not only the way shown in the picture on slide 3. The DJs in the sound room are real radio talk show host. I only won the block car race because Jakes car did not start at the same time as hers'. That’s only what he thinks because I still would have won any ways.
