Primary Newsletter – Friday 8th September 2017
Dear Parents/Carers WELCOME BACK! Welcome to the 2017 – 18 school year! I very much hope that you have been able to enjoy some relaxing moments with friends and families over the Summer, and now as we begin this new academic year we look forward to the many exciting opportunities it will provide for our children to learn and grow. Thank you for taking the time to get your children ready for the new term, they looked so smart and happy to come in to school this week. As well as this newsletter, I am also sending home an additional letter with important messages and pieces on information. Please do take the time to read both letters and feel free to ask about anything that you are unsure of. MEET THE TEAM At the end of last term, letters were sent home to inform parents and carers of who their child’s class teacher would be in September (please see the overview below to remind you of names). A key change that you will notice is that Primary classes have been split into three ‘phases’. Reception and year 1 age children make up three classes in ‘Phase 1’. Year 2, 3 and 4 children make up six classes in ‘Phase 2’, and year 5 and 6 children make up four classes in ‘Phase 3’. Staff in each phase work closely together under the guidance of a phase leader, to ensure that the learning experiences are planned and delivered to stretch and challenge all children. I have also named the phase leaders so you have a point of contact if further clarification on a matter is needed after speaking to your child’s class teacher.
