Rules for Biological Drawings
Think big when drawing. (use space wisely, no big blank spots). Draw a circle to represent the field of view of the microscope Zoom in – you don’t have to draw everything you see. Draw on the appropriate power of the microscope Use pencil, colored if applicable. Be detailed; drawings should take more than 30 seconds. Label with name of specimen or title and magnification if using microscope. Label parts that are required with arrows to them.

Microscope Rules Always carry a microscope with two hands, one on top, other on bottom. Store with SCANNING objective in position. Bring into focus with SCANNING, then switch to LOW, then high. NEVER use coarse adjustment to focus the high power.

More rules Clean lens with lens paper and a drop of water.
Slides and coverslips are GLASS, be careful! Clean up after yourself.
