Background of RDC’s teacher’s course on EE
Two types of teacher’s courses conducted from 1998 to 2005. Introduction to Environmental Education Residential Course on Environmental Education 2005, we revised these courses in a 2- day workshop We have trained more than 880 teachers We have conducted 3 EERace Simulation courses, 8 EERaces & 2 EERace Seminars

What is EERace? A unique six-day course, which takes participants to many places to complete their assignments about topics related to forest and wildlife conservation, agriculture, electrical power production and conservation, water purification and supply, communities and many more. It’s experiential, participant-centred & 70% outdoor. teachers are divided into 6 groups & each group is given 3 assignments

More teachers are involved in Environmental programmes Their level of involvements go beyond the school Personal impact: More teachers are using eco-bags when shopping.

Conclusion Teachers enjoy the EERace approach to EE training
EERace brings together the government, NGOs, communities and the private sector in educating teachers on the environment. More schools are doing environmental programmes: recyling, composting, energy saving campaign, school greening programmes.
