Implantation: fertilized egg attaching to the uterine wall Fertilization: union of the egg and sperm cell Menopause: woman stops get her menstrual period Fetus: after 8 weeks of conception; unborn baby; looks more like a human Embryo: 2- 8 weeks after conception; does not look like a human yet Placenta: Organ that female body produces during pregnancy; babies food and oxygen source Ultrasound: image of baby in the womb

cervix dilates and effaces (thins out). contractions begin and increase in strength, duration, and frequency. Longest stage Second Stage: cervix is 10 cm dilated. Pushing baby out Most painful stage usually lasting 20 mins- 2 hours Third Stage Delivery of placenta
