The FARMING SECTOR

2 ABSTRACT Farmers make up of 80% of the production sector of the economy in Africa, especially, Ghana. But their meager income and poor economic conditions impede their efforts to increase their production capacity to an appreciable extent. It is therefore imperative that some measures be taken in order to augment them raise their income, which will in turn boost their economic situation and, consequently, leads to higher productivity. This is the background in which this study is conducted to encourage and advise African governments to aid boost production in the agricultural sector of their economy. The aim of this study is to discover appropriate manners whereby farmers in the low and middle income countries could be major players in the economic activities in the country. It purports to state that, given appropriate measures, a greater proportion of farmers in the Third World Countries, could be moved from the lower class level to middle class level. The latter, which is the ideal indicator of political and economic success, leads to stability in the economic domain

5 Modernization of the Farming Sector in Ghana
Purpose: TO BRING THE GHANAIAN FARMERS TO THE CENTRAL ROLE AS PLAYERS IN THE MODERNIZED GHANAIAN ECONOMY.

6 Farmers Responsibilities
1. Register your farms as companies, e.g., (Rev Asante Antwi Farms, or Opanyin Kwaku Boateng and Sons Farms 2. Give Address and direction of these farms in your Region 3.Telephone number/numbers of the farm owner 4. Date of Birth of this owner and ethnicity. If many, date of births. 5. How many acres of farms do you have? In the same area or different locations? Provide. BASIC RESPONSIBILITY

7 Statistics of Produce Year by Year
A. How many tons/pounds of Cocoa sold each year, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021 and so forth? Every 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, or 12 months. This should be updated every time one makes sales so that comparison can be made. B. How much was the total sales during this period of sales? Sales before expenses? Year by Year

How much was income after tax has been deducted Income of the farmer every 3 months, 6 months or a year are generated regularly in the computer system. COMPUTER SYSTEM: An income statement is a financial statement that reports a company's financial performance over a specific accounting period. Financial performance is assessed by giving a summary of how the business incurs its revenues and expenses through both operating and non-operating activities.

10 Second Responsibility of the Farmers
Report these to the Regional Ministry of Agriculture (Here there is an Expert there, preferably an MBA graduate to help put these information on the computer system in order to generate National Data for Ghanaian Farmers). Personal Reporting must be done regularly if you have no educated son or relative who could send this through the or any credible communication means. 11 COCOA BUYING AGENCIES (Data)
Apart from this data reported to the Regional Ministry, Cocoa buying companies should have their own credible data information of any cocoa farmer with his registered names and companies also registered in their system. 12 GOVERNMENT OF GHANA (Responsibility)
Government through Parliament shall pass a law to state that farmers hence forth could use these information to apply for loans, pay their income insurance premium, insure their properties and etc. These information shall be made visible and accessible in the country, so that for instance, President Akuffo-Addo could sit in his office at Flagstaff House in order to assess, for example, Rev Asante-Antwi Farms and obtain every information about him, his activities, and his farm produce regularly just as every bank in the country could do prior to granting loans to a modern farmer/worker in Modern Ghana.

Later, there can be a campaign to encourage (and incorporate) all graduates who want to enter into the farming business for them to have a guarantee income so far as one follows the example above. With the introduction of INCOME INSURANCE, then, every farmer could become a bread winner with regular income to support his family, if, based on his annual yield he could pay his insurance premium regularly monthly, quarterly, six months or yearly.

17 RESULTS OF EXPERIMENT a) Farmers with low income could enjoy leisure b) Life security and well-being of farmers c) Players in the economic activities in the country d) Facilitate efficient money circulation e) Bring prospective farmers to the middle class level f) Boost the farming industries image g) Bring Third World farmers to the center of modern economic history h) Distribute wealth to the level of equilibrium i) Boost mental health of farmers in the low and middle income countries.

18 RECAPITULATION Manufacturing sector will grow
Broaden the tax base of the economy Growth of urban communities/check migration to congested regional capital cities. Good ground/prerequisite for Industrialization Introduce income insurance for Ghanaians between 18 years to 59 years.
