Nail tip adhesive – bonding agent to secure tip to natural nail
Gel adhesives – Resins Thicker Require longer “set” or drying time Containers come in Pointed applicator One-drop applicator Brush-on

Application of Nail Tips
Stop, rock and hold Avoid air bubbles Promote proper adhesion Hold tip 45 degree angle to the edge of the fingernail Stop against end of free edge Rock tip slowly applying steady pressure – push out air bubbles Hold in place
12
Reduce contact area with abrasive file so tip blends with natural nail
No visible line from nail tip to natural nail NEVER hold file at angle – may gauge nail plate and damage it

Fiberglass Very thin synthetic mesh with a loose weave Easy to use
Resin penetrates – improves adhesion Not as strong as linen or silk
18
Paper wraps Temporary service Very thin paper First material used
Do not have strength and durability of fabric wraps
19
Wrap resin accelerator
Activator Acts as dryer that speeds up the hardening process of resin or adhesive overlay Brush-on Pump Spray-on Aerosol 2 minutes after applying
