Join Clubs, Sports, and Extracurricular Activities VOLUNTEER!!! Attend College Nights Start gathering data about colleges Get A’s and B’s…a C is the lowest grade that can be used for university admission….courses can be repeated for higher grades Familiarize yourself with school policies, especially in regards to add/drops of courses. Please address changes before courses start! Refer to pages 6-11 in the Student Planner.

High School and A-G requirements
Review A-G handout and notice the differences for Truckee High School graduation and CSU and UC requirements. Double check that all credits are completed or in progress. (refer to student planner for details on requirements) Have a strong academic year!

Community Service Requirement
AS part of your graduation requirements, the *class of 2016 must perform a minimum of 24 hours of Community Service. Service is described as: Not graded, off campus, not during school hours, no compensation and it benefits the community. The community service activity form can found on the THS website and can be downloaded. Community Service Opportunities are always posted in the Daily Bulletin and on the Community Service Wall in the SAC.

PSAT PSAT: Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test
Practice test for the SAT 3 hour exam that measures aptitude in Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. National Merit Scholarship Program uses it to determine if a student is eligible to receive a scholarship Colleges use the scores as a recruitment tool. Colleges receive your child’s scores and can start sending information. Sign up at the Attendance Office: cost is $15, or fee waiver (if you qualify)
