To build evidence-base for EU broadband policy (fixed and wireless) To benchmark and analyse trends regarding broadband coverage and take-up targets To prepare regular development reports To programme and evaluate EU-funded NGN projects, ex ante and ex post To assess the impact of policy initiatives and decisions (state aid…) and electronic communication regulation

4 Data exploitation for data suppliers
To get access to data that is shared between data suppliers – principle of reciprocity To export data from other sources to own database To learn about methodologies To benchmark own initiative To run analysis and use results for documentation / reports To shape EU policy-making by using data as basis of dialog

5 Data exploitation for decision-makers
To define white, grey and black areas for state aid purposes To benchmark national / regional trends To develop evidence-based NGN strategies and policy plans To evaluate public funded individual broadband rollout projects, ex ante and ex post (e.g. coverage planned or achieved) As for data suppliers among public administrations, to use common set of data as basis for dialog with EC etc. on: regulation, policy (targets), state aid, implementation of EU regulatory framework, planning broadband targets To assess mobile coverage obligations (efficient use of spectrum)
