Enigma Why dinosaurs became extinct?
One of the potential scenario is that asteroid or comet collided with the Earth changing the weather and killed off dinosaurs. This idea has evidence in a big asteroid crater found lately in Mexico from 65 million years ago. Such devastating disasters are featuring in the media. However, it should be noticed that the dynamical lifetime of the Near-Earth Objects (NEOs) is around 100 million years, which is much shorter than that of the age of the Solar System. For this reason, there is an enigma how these small asteroids have been supplied into the near Earth space. We have made tremendous progress in this research field. Most of the progress were brought by the dynamical interpretation.

Armageddon (film, 1998) [Synopsis]
One day, NASA found that the smaller asteroids were forced towards Earth by a much larger one the size of Texas, which will strike the Earth in 18 days causing total destruction of all life. As high government officials and NASA specialists discuss the best course of action, they realize that blowing up a nuclear warhead from within the asteroid near a fault line would effectively blow the asteroid in two halves which would go around the Earth. NASA then decides to recruit Harry (Bruce Willis), famous for the best deep-core driller in the world. Harry agree to take the job of destroying the asteroid. He and his own crew take off in two space shuttles. On their approach, debris from the asteroid's tail strikes one of the shuttle, causing massive damage.
