Success Criteria I can identify various kitchen terms and the tools used in recipes.

Alternate Add a small amount of one item, then another.

Bake To cook in an oven with dry heat.

Baste To put a liquid, such as melted butter or a sauce on top, while cooking.

Beat Quick mixing motion.

Apple Dip Ingredients: 8 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons water 1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 1/4 cup brown sugar Directions: Head Chef: In a medium double boiler over medium-low heat, melt caramels with 2 T. water, stirring frequently until caramels are melted. Then remove from heat. Assistant Chef: In a medium bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar. Fold in caramel mixture. Serve immediately with cut up apples. Dishwasher: Rinse and wipe apples. Continue washing dishes during lab. Kitchen Manager: Read recipe. Keep everyone on task!!
