Others’ emotions affect us
Example: the audience of a presentation – their mood matches that of the speaker. I can see a lot of you smiling so I am hoping that my happiness is spreading to you all - need something funny – here When they see another person happy, they also feel happy Boss is angry with employee and the person “takes it out” on his family at home Emotions are contagious
3
Emotional influence is social
Emotions spread among people in direct contact – even if they are just know each other or are complete strangers. How many times have we got into a public transit bus a After a bad day and smiled naturally after encountering a very enthusiastic and happy bus driver ?? Emotion contagion online ?
