Headlines To recap and share experiences of Day One and build new connections 1. Create a newspaper headline that sums up your experience of yesterday. 2. Find someone you haven’t met yet. 3. Share your newspaper headlines with each other and why you chose it. We will do this three times, so you will have the opportunity to meet three new people. We will tell you when it is time to switch and find a new person. find someone you don’t know…4 minutes sharing…then find another partner….then find another…we’ll tell you when to switch

Current State To create shared understanding of the current state 1. Think about the current context of diesel in remote communities. What words come to mind? Jot your ideas in your journals. 2. Share your words at your table. 3. As a table, choose five words that best represent your table’s understanding and perception of the current state of diesel in remote communities.

Current State Using a sharpie pen, write your table’s 5 words on one sticky note. Place the note on your poster in the clouds. When you are finished, please return to your group.

Future State To create shared understanding of alternative, possible futures 1. Imagine the ideal future of diesel in remote communities. You define what is ideal. What words come to mind? Jot your ideas in your journals. 2. Share your words at your table. 3. As a group, choose five words that you feel best represent your group’s desired future state of diesel in remote communities.

Key Shifts To explore how we might move from the current state to a desired future 1. As a group, think about the two worlds you have described: current and future state. What are the most important shifts that would need to take place to move from the current state to the future state world you described? What do you want to move away from, and toward? “From” example: disconnected efforts “To” example: diesel as one of a portfolio of energy sources for remote communities
