1. Poetic Devices in Your Favourite Song
Find a song that you like
Go to “ in order to find the lyrics
Can you find FIVE different poetic devices?? Refer to your terminology booklet for ideas
If you can find five devices, copy and paste the lyrics to a slide/keynote/document
Using colour and bold font, point out the different devices. Try to colour code as much as you can (eg. Metaphors are all in blue)
Determine the mood and the tone of the song. (Sometimes watching the video helps determine this too.)
Determine the theme statement
Present your poem to your partner tomorrow during class. Maybe show the video?
