4 Objectives of the Ski Trip
To experience the enjoyment and exhilaration of skiing as a physical activity in a non-competitive environment To boost confidence and self-esteem of participants To develop resilience in tough conditions To increase tolerance and consideration towards others and develop the social skills To experience life in another country and appreciate the natural beauty of the mountains

5 Obertauern, Austria Obertauern was once described as a ‘snow bowl’, Obertauern is actually shaped just like a bowl. Surrounded by slopes, you can enjoy a 360 degree view in Obertauern, so you are ‘in the picture’ and filled with anticipation for the forthcoming days, jam-packed with snow and skiing. A quiet resort free from holiday crowds. The trip to Obertauern will unfurl between 1630 and 2313 metres altitude. It has1 cable car, 19 chair lifts and there are 6 T-bar lifts to use. A full 100 kilometres of ski pistes and a legendary 26 kilometres of cross-country slopes. This fantastic offer is garnished with après-ski activities.

8 Hotel Felseralm

9 Hotel Felseralm Being a purpose built resort there are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants available. The fabulous Felseralm hotel is set in a rural location approximately 3 miles from the centre of the town, and only 2 miles from the nearest ski lift. The hotel has been recently refurbished with ensuite bedrooms for 4-6 persons. With a wide range of leisure facilities here, you can enjoy the large sports hall, disco room, table tennis and even two ten pin bowling alleys (payable on site). Most rooms are 4/6 bedded with ensuite facilities Groups can also enjoy private dining in their own restaurant with television too.

10 Après - ski options examples
Therme Amadé swimming pool - The cost is approx. €7.80 per person for 2 hours. Tubing - Cost approx. €6 per person per hour payable directly to the hotel. Bowling - There are 2 lanes for 10 pin bowling at the hotel. The cost is €16 per lane per half hour (ideal for 8 students per lane at a cost of €2 per person per game). Quiz night - We can organise a free quiz night, games night and even a talent contest on request. Lucky Flitzer toboggan run - Cost approx. €5 per person per ride. Disco & Sports hall - There is a disco room and super sports hall at the Felseralm. Ice-skatng - Cost approx. €8 per person per hour.

Accommodation: multi-bed rooms for students (single sex) Nights: 6 (+ 2 overnight on coach) Meal Plan: Full board (breakfast, self-made packed lunch & dinner) + additional dinner on departure day. First meal is evening dinner on arrival; last meal dinner on departure day. Travel/Transfers: Executive coach transportation from door to door. Return channel crossings Daily roundtrip transfers to the slopes (a local bus will be required on the last day for these transfers). Après-ski transfers as specified on your itinerary. Ski Arrangements: 6 days ski pass (under 18s) 6 days ski equipment hire (skis, boots & helmets) 6 days ski lessons x 4 hours per day (max 12 persons per instructor group unless otherwise agreed). 12 International Ski Trip
This week is the February half-term holiday from the Academy. The cost of this trip will be £ For beginners there will also be a supplement of £20 which will pay for their first lesson at Xscape and the transport to and from Xscape. This is compulsory as it gives students an experience of wearing their equipment and what will be expected of them on the slopes. Ski lesson to be organised for October/November There will be no collective passports for this trip and your child must possess a valid passport at the time of travelling, should they not hold one they will not be allowed to travel and you would lose all money paid for the trip. Students will also need a European Health Insurance Card.
