Parallelism Problems 4 English loves consistency, symmetry and parallel structure. Things in a sentence must all be the same form. If you are using a plural, stay with the plural. If you are in the past, stay with the past. Do not say: “I love swimming, jogging and apples”. Apples doesn’t match swimming and jogging. Swimming, jogging and eating does. I love to swim, to jog and to eat apples, works too.

More Parallelism Problems
Do not say: “Privacy concerns, concurrency and immense processing power mean that Google’s proposal for individual search results is currently unfeasible.” Privacy concerns, concurrency and immense processing power don’t match. Privacy concerns, concurrency issues and processing demands do.
