Than, Then: Than is used to compare; Then tells when; That pizza is more than I can eat. Tom laughed, and then we recognized him.

Confusingly Related Words
Emigrate from, Immigrate to: Emigrate means to leave one country or region to settle in another. Immigrate means to enter another country and reside there. In 1900, my grandfather emigrated from Russia. Many Mexicans immigrate to the U.S. to find work.

Prepositions On Use of prepositions example:
Used to express a surface of something: I put an egg on the kitchen table. Used to specify days and dates: I was born on the 22nd day of October in 1992. Used to indicate a device or machine, such as a phone or computer: She has been on the computer since this morning. Used to indicate a part of the body: He kissed me on my cheek. Used to indicate the state of something: The building is on fire.

Prepositions Common combination and preposition example:
Verbs and prepositions are also used in common phrases. The verb generally goes in front of the preposition. Do you agree with the new guidelines? This novel gave me a lot to think about. Adjectives and prepositions are commonly used in phrases. The adjective usually goes before the preposition. I’m really excited about this project! He was found guilty of fraud and tax evasion.
