Think Like an Astronaut with Chris Hadfield
Video Conferencing Think Like an Astronaut with Chris Hadfield TPL is planning to implement the infrastructure, tools and meeting facilities for collaborative learning through video conference technology to expand digital access and literacy to the public. This technology will allow customers the ability to view and access live and pre-recorded programs or classes, receive training and assistance from the Library at a location convenient to them on a device of their choice. TPL also plans to identify potential partners with which to collaborate. The purchase and installation of Cisco Telepresence occurred concurrently with the activities of the eLearning Working Group. Although only installed in six locations, it is hoped it will support eLearning opportunities for staff and the public. In 2017 we plan to expand it to 5 more locations across Toronto based on the quality of the connectivity in the branch and upon geographic equity. We are also hoping to get webinar software for all branches.
