12. How Does it Work- A Student’s Perspective

How Does it Work- A Student’s Perspective
Students who want to take a DSST exam will contact their advising office (or Base Education Office for military members) to ensure the exams cover their needs.
Students prepare and schedule the exam with their local testing center.
On the day of the exam, the student registers online via the secure site and pays for the exam fee. The first attempt is free for eligible military students.
Students can view their score online. A formal Score Report / Transcript can be sent to their institution.

Benefits:
DANTES helps eligible military members and eligible spouses pursue their educational goals by funding DSST exams (first attempts only).
To cover your cost to administer exams, DSST will pay $25 for each exam delivered in the military testing domain.

20. DANTES Fully Funded How it works
When an eligible student comes in to test, the information is captured within the testing platform.
The number of fully funded tests delivered is recorded on a monthly report.
Prometric DSST pays each site the total amount on the report.

21. DANTES Fully Funded Important Reminders
Test administration and proctor fees are not applicable for DANTES-funded military and military-approved candidates.
Test Centers may charge civilian and non-funded military candidates a administration fee.
Two forms of ID are required.
Armed Forces of the United States Military ID & U.S Government or State-Issued Photo ID.
