Many companies and charities have their own emblem or trademark by which they can be easily identified. This is known also as a logo. They may also use a distinctive phrase, again as a mark of identity. This is known as a slogan. Logo or Slogan? Associated With? What it suggests? 14 Headlines: Writers aim to capture the reader’s attention with their headlines. To do this they often use a range of techniques. 1.Rhetorical question 2.Alliteration 3. Sounds Dramatic 4. Use a pun / play on words Headline Technique Effect “I thought I would never get out alive” Made to sound dramatic Emphasises the danger and the seriousness of the incident. “Who will trust doctors now?”
