The risks these men took had little reward for themselves but great reward for countless people in the long run. What kind of person does it take to risk something like their lives for a cause with no guaranteed or even foreseeable reward?

We want clear cut instructions
We factor out the “what if” in a lot of situations because we are told to be safe, and our parents want us to encounter less struggles than they did
Failing has a negative connotation attached to it.
