The Mission Integration Policy
Felician-Sponsored ministries are responsible for the integration of the Ministry’s Mission and Felician Core Values for Ministry in all aspects of organizational life.

The Mission Integration Policy –The process of Mission Integration
Ensuring ministry orientation and formation for boards, administrators, management teams, staff and volunteers. Developing policies and procedures which reflect the ministry’s mission and core values. Aligning MI plans with the ministry’s strategic direction. Building an Employee Culture of Mission. Building a Culture of Prayer and Reflection. Responding to the needs of the poor and vulnerable. Engaging in ethical decision-making processes.

The Mission Integration Policy –Policy Elements
Elements which have not changed include: the process for the appointment of a mission leader, the involvement of the Senior Ministry Advisor and VP for Mission in the development of MI plans, and the need to align MI plans with a ministry’s strategic direction. Elements which have changed or been added include: Fostering an environment that not only promotes Catholic identity but also applies principles of Catholic Social Teaching and encourages spiritual development; Promoting justice, peace and integrity of creation initiatives.

Chief changes to the appendix involve an enhanced understanding of who is responsible for integrating mission into the life and culture of the ministry. Mission Leader remains a pivotal leader in initiating, overseeing, directing and implementing the Mission Policy and Felician Core Values for Ministry.

Expanded Scope of Responsibilities Ministry Board As part of its strategic governance duties, the ministry’s Board of Directors play a key role in ensuring that the Mission Integration Policy is imbedded in all aspects of the ministry. All Board Members are oriented to, and receive ongoing education/formation around, the Mission Policy and Core Values, among other issues/topics. Reviews the annual mission plan in summary form. Reviews and evaluates itself and ministry leadership with regard to mission effectiveness.

Expanded Scope of Responsibilities Ministry Administrator Ensures strategic initiatives include the concrete integration of mission. Incorporates mission and core values in all decisions (and decision-making processes), policies, practices, procedures, etc. of the ministry. Ensures all needed resources (financial and otherwise) for implementing the MI policy. Supports and holds accountable the local Mission Leader.

Expanded Scope of Responsibilities Leadership and Management Support the administrators in enacting her/his role in implementing the mission and core vale of the ministry. Lead and directs her/his area of responsibility in accord with mission and core values. Holds staff accountable for enacting mission and core values.

Expanded Scope of Responsibilities Employees and Volunteers All staff will receive initial and ongoing education/in-servicing around the mission and core values as a regular part of their employment and service. Are held accountable for enacting the core values in the exercise of their duties or service.
