Fine Art Task 1 Now is the time to pick up the pace with your drawing; how many can you do over the summer? There is no limit but a minimum of five drawings from direct observations are required. Do not copy from pictures. These can be rough sketches and in any medium, of any objects – manmade or natural. Task 2. Take a friend and visit an art exhibition. In London, the Tate Britain, National Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum are generally free, but you can go anywhere. Write a paragraph or two about what you thought of the exhibition. On this course, you are going to produce work in one or more areas including: painting and drawing mixed media, including collage and assemblage sculpture land art installation printmaking: relief, intaglio, screen processes and lithography film, television, animation, video, photography: lens-based and /or light-based media and new media. Task 3 What things interest you from the above list? Look up anything you are unsure about. Make a mood board for all and highlight the things that interest you. Bring all your work to the first lesson. A level Fine Art is a challenging course, one which is designed to stretch and push you as an artist. We will cover a wide range of artistic disciplines, with drawing at its core, before giving you the opportunity to specialise in your preferred style. The reward will be a personalised portfolio of work which you will be proud of.
