3 MAP~GIS Timeline 1995 – First GIS data obtained in CAD format
1999 – GIS agreement signed between the City, County, Paducah Water, and Paducah Power 2001 – first aerial photographs flown; CAD data updated 2002 – GIS Coordinator position created and hired 2002 – Paducah/McCracken E911 joins the Consortium 2004 – GIS Technician position created and hired; Road Centerlines created October 2004 – Joint Sewer Agency joins Consortium The consortium concept dates back to 1995 when the first data was obtained. The first official agreement was established in That makes MAP~GIS 20 years old.

April 2009 – Operational efficiency plan eliminated GIS Coordinator position and moved GIS from Engineering to Information Technology October 2009 – City and County address points created 2010 – Data and GIS expanded to web and public 2012 – ESRI Enterprise License Agreement obtained 2013 – All base data updated

5 MAP~GIS System Structure
To date there has been approximately $1.2 million spent on data and equipment split up equally by the consortium members. The consortium guides the purchases and direction of the system infrastructure. Membership consists of 6 voting members and 2 representatives of the public Two GIS employees are paid 100% by the City of Paducah. E911 and McCracken County have a contract for services with the city. $1.2 million jointly invested into the system.

6 What is McCracken County’s Cost?
Annually $6,000 for Consortium membership/maintenance (used for future equipment and data purchases) Contract for services around $28,000 per year billed quarterly (increases 3% annually) Software Licensing $0 under the current license agreement ($1, paid from above contract)

7 What Does IT/GIS Staff Do?
Maintains approximately 200 data layers and adding more each day Parcels Address points Maintains the GIS server and related equipment Provides technical support to approximately 20 power users and numerous web based users Develops, creates, and maintains all of the web based mapping services for McCracken County

Scan plats from County Clerk’s office Put accurate lines into the GIS system Maintain county-wide address points Maintain road layers, road network, road address ranges Physical & Political Boundaries and Features Voting Precincts – Emergency Services Boundaries School Districts – Landmarks Zoning Districts – Flood Boundaries
