1 The Savior’s Sermon: Trust in God’s Strength
St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, January 28th

2 Welcome to St. Peter! During the Epiphany season Jesus reveals himself to be the Savior of all people through the worship of the Wise Men, his baptism in the Jordan River and by performing his miracles. It doesn’t take long for many to see Jesus’ Gospel as foolishness. Here, that ‘foolishness’ is our salvation for which we give thanks to God.

12 The Savior’s Sermon: Trust in God’s Strength
St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, January 28th

13 Seek Where You May to Find a Way CW #395 Verses 1-4
Text: Georg Weissel, Setting: SUCH, WER DA WILL Tune: Johann Stobäus, , alt.

14 Verse 1: Seek where you may To find a way That leads to your salvation. My heart is stilled; On Christ I build-- He is the one foundation.

15 Verse 1: His Word is sure; His works endure, He will o'erthrow My ev'ry foe; Through him I more than conquer.

16 Verse 2: Seek whom you may To be your stay; None can redeem his brother. All helpers failed; This man prevailed, The God-Man, and none other.

17 Verse 2: The Servant-Lord Our life restored. We're justified, For he has died, The guiltless for the guilty.

18 Verse 3: Seek him alone, Who did atone, Who did your souls deliver; Oh, seek him first, All you who thirst For grace that fails you never.

19 Verse 3: In ev'ry need Seek him indeed; To ev'ry heart He will impart His blessings without measure.

20 Verse 4 (Please Rise): My heart's delight, My crown most bright, Jesus, you are forever. Not wealth or pride Or aught beside Our bond of love shall sever.

21 Verse 4: You are my Lord; Your precious Word Shall be my guide Whate'er betide. Oh, teach me, Lord, to trust you!

22 Opening Verses Pastor:
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. All: And also with you

23 Confession of Sins Pastor: We have come into the presence of God, who created us to love and to serve him as his dear children. But we have disobeyed him and deserve only his wrath and punishment. Therefore, let us confess our sins to him and plead for his mercy.

24 Confession of Sins All:
Merciful Father in heaven, I am altogether sinful from birth. In countless ways I have sinned against you and do not deserve to be called your child.

25 Confession of Sins All: But trusting in Jesus, my Savior, I pray:
Have mercy on me according to your unfailing love. Cleanse me from my sin, and take away my guilt.

26 (Pastor announces our forgiveness)
All: Amen.

27 Prayer and Praise Pastor:
In the peace of forgiveness, let us praise the Lord:

28 Oh Taste and See All (♫): Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good.
Blessed are they who take refuge in him. Your Word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.

29 Oh Taste and See All: Your faithfulness continues forever.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed are they who take refuge in him.

30 (Pastor says the prayer of the day)
Pastor: Let us pray. (Pastor says the prayer of the day) All (♫): Amen.

33 Psalm 1 Pastor: But his delight is in the law of the LORD, All: and on his law he meditates day and night.

34 Psalm 1 Pastor: He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yield its fruit in season All: and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

35 Psalm 1 Pastor: Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, All: nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
