1 Ancient Egypt By Cormier

2 The Nile River The Nile River is the longest river in the world. It was the most important river to ancient Egyptians. The Nile River flows into the Mediterranean Sea. The river is full of fish and the river banks are full of good things to eat.

3 Hieroglyphics Hieroglyphics, also known as ‘ sacred writing’, are the most famous script Egyptians used. Hieroglyphics use pictures as symbols. Hieroglyphics were carved or painted on temples, stone monuments, ect.

4 Pharaohs Pharaohs ruled every inch of Egypt’s land. They performed rituals and built temples. The pharaohs made the laws of Egypt. They represented the Egyptian Gods.

5 Anubis Anubis’s name means “man with jackal head” in Greek. His skin is seen as a very dark blackish color. Egyptians knew him for being linked to the mummification process an the journey to the afterlife. The very confusing part of his history is that he is either the son of Ra, Set and Nephthys, or Osiris. Anubis was given a jackal head because jackals were often found around tombs and graves.

6 Egyptian Amulets Egyptians made amulets because they believed that they had magic based off of there shape, what they were made of, and certain magical ingredients that could give them certain powers.

7 Egyptian Pyramids Egyptian pyramids were built to hold the tombs of Egyptian kings inside of them. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest of Giza’s pyramids. The pyramids contained the treasures of the kings buried in them. The robbers got most of the treasures inside of the tombs although they all had false entrances and doors to trick the robbers.
