2 Introducing Drive A new website for young drivers
Section title Introducing Drive A new website for young drivers Interactive road code with all the information you need to pass your learners Practical driving skills videos to help you (and your coach) start right once you’re on the road Tips and checklists on what you need to know to pass your restricted and full tests Section for your coach to help them be a great coach Everything is free! The most we’ll ask for is some information Key messages for young people Drive is a free website with lots of cool stuff that will help you get confident behind the wheel. “Free” is important as there are other options that require users to pay. Drive has everything you need to know to pass your learner’s theory test and restricted and full license practical tests first time. Drive’s interactive road code will help you learn the road rules before you sit your learner’s. Pass your restricted first time with Drive’s video driving lessons and the insider guide to the test. Sign up to Drive so you can track your progress, earn points and achievements and unlock the learner’s practice test and tricky test questions. Background information ACC and the Transport Agency worked together for 18 months to create Drive. They’ll continue to work together to continually improve and enhance Drive based on user feedback. Young people were involved in the development every step of the way to make sure what we were designing was going to meet their needs and allow them to learn their way. Drive is designed to help young people be confident and capable on our roads. Our aim is to reduce the number of young people involved in and injured in crashes. “Safety” is woven into all the content on Drive but you won’t find it overtly talked about. This is because ‘safety” isn’t a great motivator of young people in this context.

3 Get your learners Interactive road code
Section title Get your learners Interactive road code Covers everything you need to know to pass the learners theory test Learn in small chunks Personalised dashboard showing what you’ve done and what you’ve got left to cover Get feedback on how well you’re doing on each module Reading the road code is really hard – the interactive road code on Drive has taken all the information needed to pass the learners theory test and put it into a format that makes it easy and fun to learn. There are load of games and fun interactions The learning map on your dashboard shows all the different modules, which ones have been completed and how well you did on each module. Young people have told us that knowing what to learn, how well they did and what to do next is really important.
