Quality Indicators Rubrics Example: Standard 1A - A standards-based curriculum in AFNR education is delivered through programs of study that incorporates classroom and laboratory instruction; experiential, project, and work based learning through SAE and leadership and personal development through FFA.  Example: Quality Indicator 1 – Program of Study (POS), reflecting the needs of the community, has been developed in accordance with state requirements. Standards and Structure of NQPS (15 minutes - Doug) Standard statement Definitions Quality indicator(s) Rubrics

6 Structure of Standards
Standards and Structure of NQPS (15 minutes - Doug) Rubrics Level of Performance Descriptions (1-5) Indicators that program meets or exceeds expectation Indicators that program does not meet quality expectation Suggested Evidence for each level of performance

7 Program Growth Planning Tools
Guidance for Next Steps Growth Planning Guide Standards and Structure of NQPS (15 minutes - Doug) Program Growth Planning tools Guidance for next steps related to each quality indicator Suggestions for getting to expectation Suggestions for moving beyond expectation Growth Planning Guide Step-by-step process to develop clear goals and plans for growth

8 Demo of NQPS Survey Tool
Sign-on Program Dashboard Taking the Surveys Building a Growth Plan State Leader Dashboard Walk-through Features and Benefits of Online Version of Tool (30-40 minutes – Clay and Doug) Sign-on Access through Council Website or FFA.org Login using current FFA.org credentials Survey and growth plan data is tracked by Chapter Number State leaders will be able to provide access to programs that do not yet have an FFA Chapter number Will have a “test version” available for use in Teacher Prep programs and others My NQPS Home Instructions for using the tool (on first visit) Link available anytime in the future Dashboard for program (on second visit) See progress on surveys and access results Access and edit current growth plan In multi-teacher programs, all teachers see the same data Survey results and growth plans stays with the program, does not move with teachers Able to submit completed surveys to state staff for review Take the Survey(s) Able to take the survey for each standard, one-by-one Teachers can determine where to begin Can create a rotation where you look at certain standards on a regular basis States are encouraged to provide guidance to local programs on which standards to complete Can print the surveys to review ahead of time before completing the surveys Select a standard to start the survey View standard and definitions See quality indicators with related rubric and sample evidence Choose a rating (1-5) for each quality indicator Note evidence for selected rating in open field State leaders will be able to see the evidence noted and can follow-up during a program visit It is incumbent on the program to maintain a copy of the evidence they note; nothing will be uploaded to FFA.org States will need to provide guidance on state-specific evidence that programs should note in this space Continue until all quality indicators for a standard are rated and evidence for each rating is logged Able to save progress and return at anytime Submit results to end the survey Reminder is displayed to indicate if anything is incomplete State leaders will be able to see program results after they are submitted Note the difference between finishing a single survey and submitting all completed surveys to the state leader

9 Demo of NQPS Survey Tool

10 Building a Growth Plan Build a growth plan (15 minutes – using mockups not live system) Able to take three simple steps to create a specific growth plan Step 1: Review the ratings for all quality indicators in one spot Print the results and discuss with a committee if needed Quickly see which Standards and QI’s have not been rated Step 2: Choose up to 10 QIs to prioritize for your growth plan Print the list of 10 to conduct prioritization with a group Prioritize from 1-10 based on urgency and importance Step 3: Select 3 to focus on and create a growth plan Plan specifies expected growth and provides a roadmap Able to update and edit this plan at any time View and update the plan status from the program dashboard Plans provide a touchpoint for each advisory committee mtgs. Easy to print the plan to share with others Plans provide a conversation starter on program visits Plans will not be submitted to the state, schools could them if they want them

11 State Leader Dashboard
State leader dashboard (10 minutes – working from mockups) Able to set a “due-by” date for all programs Optional, only if you require completion Able to see list of programs that have submitted results If program submits after “due-by” date or makes changes to a survey, appears in different color and receive notification Can drill in to see which surveys have/have not been completed View only, cannot edit Able to print results for each program Great conversation starter during program visits Able to view average scores for each quality indicator for your state Quickly see professional development needs in state Historical view will allow you to see if efforts are working! Phase II Able to view average scores for each QI at national level States able to add additional standards and quality indicators Must use the same format as the national standards
