[1] As I check to see if you are in your correct assigned seat and I take roll, please take out a sheet of paper which you will hand in for your first grade. [2] On the upper right side of your paper ensure the following information is always present or you will lose points on your grade – Last name/First name Date and Period [3] Start taking notes on the Safety and Syllabus Power point Lecture that I will give shortly AFTER the STUDENT HANDBOOK power point. You need these notes and can use these notes for Quiz 1 – Safety and Syllabus

3. 2016-2017 Safety Procedures: Safety Procedures
Safety Procedures
“Stop! Everyone Look at ME.” When I say these words, we will do one of the following:
FIRE Not a Drill- Exit the classroom to the left and go down the stairs to the outside and go to the last Lamp Post on the left.
Code Red Not a Drill– Move to the wall away from the windows and the door. Remain Silent.
Code Blue Not a Drill [Silent Evacuation] - Exit the classroom to the left and go down the stairs to the outside and go to the last Lamp Post on the left.
Severe Weather Not a Drill – We will exit the classroom to the left and go down the stairs. We will line up on either side of the downstairs hallway and sit on the floor quietly.
You must be with class near the last light post on the left in the front parking lot.
You must be with class and you must answer the roll call during drills but especially during real emergencies

Code GREEN – FIRE DRILL (Evacuate)
Code BLUE - BOMB THREAT (Silently Evacuate)
Code RED - Intruder (Lockdown Drill)
Severe Weather – will be notified by announcement
Code YELLOW – Caution. Possible crisis situation in neighborhood
Code ORANGE - special situation in building

5. Fire Drill
FIRE DRILL EVACUATION - Evacuate the building to assigned areas..
Students:▪ Gather personal items - Book bags, notebooks, jackets, etc.
▪ Be prepared to not go back into the building.
▪ Look for Class Sign “Timbol”
▪ Stay together so I can take roll
▪ After I take roll stay near assigned area
▪ Do not go to any other class or area outside
▪ I must account for each of you so stay close by

6. Silent Evacuation
CODE BLUE –Indicates a bomb threat.. Students and staff should be at least 1000 feet away from the building unless only a drill.
SILENT EVACUATION – When students and staff are evacuated from the building, the use of a cell phone by staff or students is strictly forbidden during a bomb threat. Cellphones are readily used to activate explosive devices.
Safety FIRST!! See class sign and stay close together. .

7. Silent Evacuation
We will evacuate to the front of the school and then to the Home Stands side of the stadium.
Cafeteria (if necessary and directed to do so)
I must take Class Roll – Stay near the Class Sign, Mr. Timbol, or his substitute
I must know where you are in the stands.
No students allowed on the field.

9. Severe Weather TORNADO WATCH/WARNING
WATCH- Indicates that weather conditions are such that a tornado may develop and we must listen for further updates.
WARNING- Indicates that a tornado has been sighted and protective measures must be taken immediately.
Students: ▪ Remain calm and follow the directions
▪ Take personal belongings.
▪ I must take roll so listen for your name
Proper positions may be either:
Sitting facing the wall in a cross legged position prepared to put their face in your lap, or
Sitting with your back to the wall, prepared to put your face in your lap.

11. 2016-2017 Class room Procedures:
Beginning of class procedures
No one allowed to leave class in the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes
Follow classroom “beginning of class” policy – nearly every day.
Take out a sheet of paper - name/date/period in the upper right of paper
Copy the “Standard” – usually it will be the same for many days but you still need to copy the standard
Copy the EQ - Many times the EQ will cover more than one day in class but you must still copy the EQ on the “Daily Agenda” paper.
Copy the Title – Title will be under “Daily Agenda” and date of today’s lesson.
Copy the Daily Agenda information – What you will be copying will be the topics, activities, and assignments for that day’s lesson.
NOTE – If door is closed/locked, you are tardy.

12. Classroom Rules
Comply with all Non-Negotiables.
Silence during instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
Remain seated at assigned desks at all times unless given permission or directed by teacher to move.
Keep desktop and area clear of food, drinks, and trash.
Keep cellphones and other electronic devices out of sight and secure unless directed by teacher to use.

13. Classroom Rules
Never plug your cellphone in a classroom outlet.
Never give someone else your cell phone to use.
Never touch someone else’s cell phone or any reason.
Always use your cell phone to take pictures of notes that you want to use to study.
Always use a mobile charger to recharge your cell phone.
Always secure your cell phone in the class room at all times.

14. Classroom Behavior’s with Consequences
Head Down, sleeping
Talking when Mr. Timbol is delivering instruction.
Food/drink on top of desk
Loud music, noise through ear buds.
Copying and letting someone copy their “Ticket out the Door” information

15. Classroom Consequences
Warning – classroom conference with teacher
Call Home/Contact Parent - Informing parent/guardian about behavior and/or consequences
Staying after school in classroom C2200 for detention – Monday and Wednesday till 4:15pm – These are the same times for tutoring/making up assignments/tests
Office Referral
Severe Misbehavior may result in afterschool detention or office referral first, followed by call home

16. 2016-2017 Restroom Procedures:
 Hall/Bathroom Passes
NO Hall Pass given first/last 15 minutes of Class
In case you have to go to the bathroom, you do the following:
Ask Mr. Timbol for a Pass AND fill out the New Manchester High School Hall Pass with
Date, Time, your name, Destination [Upper C Restroom], Origin C2200 Timbol
Bring me the pass and I will sign/stamp it so you can go.
You have 3 Emergency Restroom Passes for the school year. Take care of personal business outside of class time.
Any Non-Restroom Emergency situation requires we have a conversation that might disrupt instruction so it better be an Emergency.

Must be done during Tutoring Times with any of the American Government/World History teachers during their tutoring schedules.
