COLOR Color- the element of art that is produced when light, striking an object, is reflected back to the eye. 3 Properties: - HUE: The name given to a color. (red, blue, etc...) - INTENSITY: Refers to the strength of the color. ( bright, dull, etc…) - VALUE: Refers to the lightness or darkness of the color. (Shade – darker / Tint – lighter)

COLOR SCHEMES Primary Colors – (RED, YELLOW, and BLUE)
The 3 colors that create all of the colors! Secondary Colors- (ORANGE, GREEN, and VIOLET) Created by mixing 2 Primary Colors together! Tertiary Colors- ( 2 Examples: Blue-Green and Blue-Violet) Created by mixing a Primary and Secondary color together!

COLOR SCHEMES Complimentary Colors- 2 Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. (Ex. – Red/Green, Blue/Orange, Yellow/Violet) Analogous Colors- 3 Colors that are beside each other on the color wheel. (Ex. – Red, Violet, Blue) Monochromatic Color Scheme- All the values of one color. (Ex.- All the values of Red)
