The Blue Period These art pieces were all painted between 1901 and 1904 which was known as Picasso's Blue Period. It included sad, gaunt people in gloomy settings. He uses a melancholy blue in most of these paintings. This blue period began when he became depressed because his close friend Carlos Casagemas commited suicide. Reflection I learned that Picasso’s art was very unique and different and he went through a lot of phases. I liked how he had different periods so all of his work wasn’t the same it had a variety. His paintings became very successful and still are famous worldwide.
