INTRODUCTION & MISSION STATEMENT
Bryn Mawr College, an all-female institution in conjunction with two co-ed partner schools, is located in metropolitan Pennsylvania. The college takes pride in its mission to provide a rigorous education and to encourage the pursuit of knowledge as preparation for life and work. 1/15

HISTORY & CAMPUS The 135-acre college 11 miles west of Philadelphia was founded by a posthumous grant from Joseph W. Taylor in 1885 as an institution for “the advanced education of females.” Originally founded on Quaker values, Bryn Mawr became denominational in 1893. BMC is also one of the seven sister colleges, historically known female institutions closely linked with the eight ivy league schools. 2/15

SCHOOL FOCUS & ATTITUDE
Bryn Mawr students are known to take studying seriously, with the majority of students enrolled participating in the honors program. The school is not known for a party atmosphere, in fact, quite the opposite – the Princeton Review has ranked it in the top 20 most sober schools in the United States. In addition, the athletic aspect of Bryn Mawr is less than stellar. In addition to the above, Bryn Mawr has a reputation for sucking at sports. 3/15

ENVIRONMENT & LIVING CONDITIONS
Bryn Mawr is known for its excellent living conditions. The campus, designed by architects Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux has been ranked by the Princeton Review as one of the top twenty most beautiful in the United States. In addition, its acclaimed dorms and food rank in the top ten in the US. 7/15
