Over the past few years the congregation, council, and building committee have been thinking about the physical structure of our church. This consideration has led us to:
1. Participate in two “Natural Church Development” surveys.
2. Engage Brown Church Development Group in conducting a G.P.S. (Growth Positioning Study).

Throughout this process we have identified several limitations of our current building:
1. Foot traffic flow: Ease of use for first time visitors & retention for fellowship after worship.
2. Space limitations for multiple events or large event.
3. Accessibility issues in the sanctuary and basement

This process has given the church some direction on how to overcome our building limitations and at our last annual meeting we voted to approve a fundraising campaign with a preliminary design from Brown.
But there were a few lingering questions to answer.

Should we gather more information about financing/capital campaign through the ELCA?
Should we approach other contractors for design proposals other than what Brown submitted?
These are the questions the building committee has been working on this year. The solution the committee arrived at was the
“More than Bricks” campaign.

6. More than Bricks Vision Statement
The “More than Bricks” campaign seeks new construction for more than mere appearance. It seeks new construction to support and build up the Body of Christ at Prince of Peace so that Christ’s mission and ministry may move beyond our walls to the world.

1. That our building is fully realized: We recognize that the 1980’s addition called for another phase to be complete so that…
a. The building may be as friendly to visitors as it’s people, as originally planned.
b. The building, in usage, may be accessible to all.
