36 is closer to 40. Therefore, the number 36 rounded to the nearest ten is 30 35 40

6. Now you try a few…
1. Round 72 to the nearest ten. 71 72 70 80
Because 72 is closer to 70, 72 rounds to 70.
2. Round 19 to the nearest ten. 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 10 20
Because 19 is closer to 20, 19 rounds to 20.
3. Round 99 to the nearest ten. 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 90

Because 99 is closer to 100, 99 rounds to 100.
