This month is short but full of learning! We will be working on adding a setting to the stories we draw, identifying if a story is real or make-believe, turning and flipping shapes to fit them into a puzzle, patterns, and rhyming words.
Mr. Walter, our Occupational Therapist, has been in our classroom to help us with our fine motor skills once a week. He is helping us strengthen the muscles in our hands to be ready to write in kindergarten. We are mainly working with the thumb and pointer finger. Ask your student to show you some of the things we have done (warming up our hands, waving our thumbs, and lifting our pointer finger).
Our art projects will be centered around Valentine’s Day this month. On the 14th, we will have a cookie making party and students can bring valentine’s if you so choose. I will be sending home a list of first names of students in our class.
