Hypothesis When we breed the dominant plants with other dominant plants we will end up with 25% of our flowers produced being recessive.
3
Research Question If the plants breed all the dominant plants how many recessive plants will it end up with?
4
Research Prediction That ¼ of the plants will be recessive.
5
Experimental Design
6
1. Set Up The Experiment Gather all equipment (soil, seeds, and pots),
put soil in pot, plant seeds, water
7
2. Observations Wait and watch plants grow and mature, water daily
8
3. Remove The Unwanted Plants
Remove all recessive plants (they are the ones with the purple stem)
9
4. Observation Of Plants Watch plants as they continue to
mature at form flowers
10
5. Cross Pollination Take pollen from one flower to another
11
6. Observation Until Pod Come
Watch as the plants as they start to grow pods
12
7. Pick the pods time!!! Once the pods are fully developed pick them for germination
13
8. Put Pods In Germination Chamber
Gather materials (wet paper towel, pods, and plastic bag), put paper towel in bag and put pods on paper towel
14
9. Look For Recessive and Dominant Traits
When the pods start to sprout look at their steam if it is purple it is recessive if yellow it is dominant
