NAVIANCE Naviance is a new college and career readiness tool which allows students to explore their options, take interest surveys, track college application progress, find scholarships and more. Log in at Username is students school ID/lunch code Password is students full date of birth mmddyyyy Sign up for college presentations held at Hutto HS.

APPLY TO 4 OR MORE Dream - A dream school is one where your academic credentials fall in the lower end, or even below, the school's average range for the cohort of students accepted the previous year. Match - A match school is one where your academic credentials (SAT or ACT scores and class rank) fall well within the school's average range for the most recently accepted class. Safety - A safety school is one where your academic credentials exceed the school's range for the average freshman.

SAT AND ACT SAT – (check with individual colleges about writing) Nov. 4 Register by Oct. 5 Dec. 2 Register by Nov. 2 Mar Register by Feb. 9 ACT – (check with individual colleges about writing) Oct Register by Sept. 22 Dec. 9 Register by Nov. 3 Feb. 10 Register by Jan. 12 *Students on free or reduced lunch should visit College and Career Center for a test fee waiver. *At the time that you register, you can select 4 colleges to receive your scores. If you wait until after the test, it will cost about $12 per college.

HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
Students can request a high school transcript through Naviance. They will either be sent electronically or through the mail depending on how the college accepts them. It is usually recommended to wait until you have submitted your application for admission before requesting your transcript.

APPLY TEXAS ESSAYS Essay A: What was the environment in which you were raised? Describe your family, home, neighborhood, or community, and explain how it has shaped you as a person. Essay B: Some students have an identity, an interest, or a talent that defines them in an essential way. If you are one of these students, then tell us about yourself. Essay C: You’ve got a ticket in your hand – Where will you go? What will you do? What will happen when you get there?

TSI The TSI or Texas Success Initiative is used to determine if a student is ready for college-level coursework in the areas of reading, math and writing. Students are exempt from taking the TSI if they have the following scores on SAT/ACT: SAT – 480 EBRW, 530 Math ACT – Composite of 23 with a 19 in English and 19 in Math

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS Community Colleges are open enrollment, meaning that everyone that submits an application will be accepted. Universities have different criteria for automatic admission, holistic review, and conditional acceptance. Top 10% rule What Universities consider in holistic review
