Coping with Change Find the right balance between work and life
Respond, rather than react, to change Draw strength from God’s word People remember who you are and how they got on with you, not lesson plans Finding the balance – set out the hours to be worked and work effectively, and rest effectively when not working – plan what has to be done, think it through in detail, allow time when you can do it, build in periods to catch up Respond rather than react – not a knee jerk reaction, but a thoughtful honest response Anger, bitterness, fear, blame – grieve the Holy Spirit of peace – Joseph is an example Draw strength from God’s word – see Psalm 19:7-11 The law is perfect (= rules binding on a community) it revives the soul The statutes are trustworthy (= the written law) make wise the simple The precepts of the Lord are right (= rules for conduct) give joy to the heart The commands of the Lord are radiant (= God’s orders) give light to the eyes The ordinances of the Lord are sure (= rites or ceremonies) warn & reward us
71
On your mark………………………
72
Every morning in Africa, when the sun rises……
73
A gazelle awakens knowing that it must outrun, the fastest lion or else it will be hunted to death.
74
But when that same sun rises………..
75
A lion awakens knowing that it must outrun, the slowest gazelle or else it will starve to death.
76
Whether you are a gazelle or a lion………
At sunrise, tomorrow Whether you are a gazelle or a lion……… You better be running at your best.
77
If not, you will be eaten or starve.
