Some Facts About Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams was a boy who did not fit in any of the schools he went to. He was most likely hyperactive and dyslexic (he had trouble reading and writing.) Ansel Adams loved music and he taught himself to play the piano at age twelve.

Ansel Adams visited Yosemite National Park when he was fourteen with a camera given to him by his parents. He eventually gave up a career in music for one in photography.

More Ansel Adams Facts Ansel Adams worked to save America's wild places, and he belonged to the Sierra Club. The Sierra Club is a club of people who want to protect wild land in America. Ansel Adams was popular because of his great photographs and also because he sold books of his photos at a low price.

In 1941, sixty eight years ago, the National Park Service asked Ansel Adams to create a photograph display. Ansel Adams was paid about $22 a day and took photos in Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

Unfortunately, World War II interrupted the project, and the photograph display was never completed. Today his collection of two hundred photos can be used for school reports or websites.
