5. WHAT CAN WE DO? COLLEGE – Provide the equipment to get up the mountain
Provide the skills – Class work, homework independent study.
Provide the support – Teach well, provide challenging resources, encourage independence.

6. WHAT CAN WE DO? STUDENT – Use the equipment to get up the mountain
Go to EVERY lesson.
Participate fully in EVERY lesson.
Become independent and support others.
Do your homework.
Commit to a min 15hrs per week independent study (5hrs per subject) in addition to homework.
Accept that if you don’t do this you will be ‘NAGGED’ until you do it.

7. WHAT CAN WE DO? HOME – Be the support team to help the climb
Show an interest in your child’s studies and challenge them to become independent.
Support them to be resilient when ‘the going gets tough’
Praise them when they work really hard or do well.
Don’t be afraid to criticise them if you don’t think they are working hard enough.
Come to guidance evenings, parents meetings and see us as partners from whom you can seek help.
We will definitely be contacting you over the next 2 years.
