7 Homework Folder Assigned Monday-Thursday Check daily
Sign all papers and send back Ideal opportunity to communicate any concerns your child may have in subject areas.

8 Homework PURPOSE(S): To reinforce skills learned previously during class time To develop routine, sense of responsibility, & to build self-esteem GOAL(S): To be completed independently (parents are encouraged to read & clarify directions) To aid in retention of skills To build confidence STOP: If your child is unable to complete individually even when clarification was given-just note it on the homework.

9 SRI-Scholastic Reading Inventory
The SRI measures independent reading. It is a measure of how well your child comprehends text-no pictures. It is completed on the computer. Your child is reading silently to themselves and making a choice. There is no teacher interaction nor does the teacher listen to them or choose the text. As your child is learning to read, he/she will most likely receive a score of BR or Beginner Readers. BR is a range in level anywhere from Fountas and Pinnell levels A-J all depending where in the BR (0-189) they scored.   The BR is a designation that almost all first grade readers receive. It simply means that they are reading anywhere in the range from level A-J.
