California Career Resource Network (CalCRN)
The California Career Center is virtual counselor for career and college exploration and planning resources to help students map their futures. The Career Center is focused on students but also contains resources for counselors, teachers, and parents/guardians. The California CareerZone is a web-based career exploration system providing four easy to use career assessment tools and information on over 900 California occupations. Career Surfer is CalCRN's mobile application that can be downloaded for free from AppStore or Google Play. Basic information about the 900 occupations detailed on the California CareerZone. The Career and College Readiness Lesson Plans are comprised of 45 lessons across grades 5-12 with 5 or 6 lessons per year.

People are attracted to environments that correspond with their interests. The Six Basic Ideas of Holland’s Theory: 1. Most people can be classified as one of six personality types: Realistic (R), Investigative (I), Artistic (A), Social (S), Enterprising (E), and Conventional (C). 2. People of the same personality working together create an environment that fits their type. For example, Social types create a Social environment; 3. There are six basic types of environments: Realistic (R), Investigative (I), Artistic (A), Social (S), Enterprising (E), and Conventional (C); 4. People search for environments where they can use their skills and abilities and express their values and attitudes; 5. People who choose to study and work in an environment similar to their personality type are more likely to be successful and satisfied; and 6. How you act and feel depends to a large extent on your school or work environment.

Career and College Readiness Lesson Plans
45 lessons spread across grades 5-12, with 5 or 6 lessons per grade. They are organized by grade level but not limited to implementation in any specific grade. Every lesson has a Start-Up video to help educators introduce the lessons to their students. These videos can also be viewed by educators to learn about the lessons. The online Lesson Plan content includes all the lessons in Word and accessible PDF, the Start-Up videos, an Educator Guide, and Career Readiness Glossary (in English and Spanish).
