3. Curriculum Year 1 and Year 2
EYFS take part in a 1 hour PE session along with five 5 minute workouts each morning (5-a-day)
Their curriculum is set up for regular exposure to physical development.
Year 1 and Year 2
Children take part in 2 hours of PE each week.
This consists of formal teaching either delivered by the class teacher or a sports coach and 5-a-day.

4. How have we used the money?
We have so far spent £4,500 on buying in coaches from Skegness Academy to deliver lessons based on Multi-skills, Gymnastics and Dance.

5. Equipment
We have used £1, to buy brand new PE equipment to help us deliver an outstanding PE curriculum in gymnastics.

6. Clubs
We offer 100% of the school the chance to attend at least one of our PE focused clubs.
We offer a Gymnastics club lead by Skegness Academy and a Ball Skills club lead by one of our TA’s.
Currently around 40% of our school go to a PE focused after school club to further develop their skills.

7. Competitions
KS1 competitions don’t start mainly until after Christmas, but we aim to take part in as many as we can.
Year 2 are taking part in a Football competition in December.
We are hoping to hold a multi-skills competition here at Beacon Primary Academy this year.

8. Outside Experiences
As part of our partnership with Skegness Academy we have been fortunate enough to have outside people come in a deliver new experiences for the children.
The children have asked for more teaching on ‘Fencing’ and this is now one of the sessions for Year 1 and Year 2. We have listened to our children to ensure they have the experiences that they want.

9. Impact of PE provision
We are proud to say that 100% of our children take part in all PE sessions.

10. Festivals
In March children will be taking part in a Dance Festival that will be held at Skegness Academy.
We go to this every year and the children thoroughly enjoy it.

11. Swimming.
In term 1,3 and 5 children will be taking part in swimming at the Embassy. Year 2 have just completed a 6-week swimming experience in Term 1 and then Year 1 will be completing theirs in Term 3 and Reception in Term 5.
This in total will cost £1000.
